Silver Stacking Ring Workshop- Beginners
This is a beginners level silversmithing class. You will be taught to make 3 simple silver stacking rings during the workshop, that you can then take home with you at the end.
No prior experience is needed. You will be provided with all the tools, materials, training and techniques to successfully make your rings.
Techniques taught will include - soldering, stamping, texturing, sawing, filing, finishing and polishing.
The lessons will take place within a small group setting with only 2 or 3 students to maximise support throughout the class.
Materials provided will be enough to make a copper practise ring and 3 silver stacking rings. Extra silver will be available to purchase should time permit, if you wish to add to your rings or personalise them in different ways. The charge for extra silver is usually not more than £3-10.

Silver Spinner Ring Workshop- Beginners
Make and take home a lovely silver spinner ring.
This is a beginners level silversmithing class, no prior experience is required. You will be taught to make a wide band ring and 2 silver stacking rings (which will spin around the wide ring) and all tools and materials will be included. There is an additional charge for any extra silver used, but this is usually not more than £3-£10.
Techniques taught will include - soldering, stamping, texturing, sawing, filing, finishing and polishing. The wide band ring is perfect for stamping or personalising and you will have the opportunity to make a completely unique ring designed and made by you!
The lessons will take place within a small group setting with only 2 or 3 students to maximise support through out the class.
3 hour classes - £70 per person

Silver Bangle Class- Beginners
This is a beginners level silversmithing class, no prior experience is required.
You will be taught to make a silver Bangle. Techniques taught will include - soldering, stamping, texturing, sawing, filing, finishing and polishing.The bangle may be personalised through texturing or stamping or with the addition of a small charm.
All tools and materials will be included. There is an additional charge for any extra silver used, but this is usually not more than £3-£10.
The lessons will take place within a small group setting with only 2 or 3 students to maximise support through out the class.
2 1/2 hour classes - £75 per person

Silver Pendant Workshop - Beginners
This is a beginners level silversmithing class, no prior experience is required. You learn different techniques than in the ring or bangle classes so it is a nice workshop to do along side the other classes.
In this workshop you will learn about sawing different shapes from silver, brass and copper, different types of soldering to allow you to build up layers on your pendant.
Techniques taught will include - soldering, stamping, texturing, filing, finishing and polishing. All tools, equipment and materials will be supplied including, an 18 inch sterling silver chain to mount your pendant and pieces of coper, brass and silver to make your pendant from. Additional metal may be purchased in the lesson and there is an additional charge for this (not usually more than £3-£10).
The lessons will take place within a small group setting with only 2 or 3 students to maximise support through out the class.
2.5 to 3 hour classes - £65 per person

Sea Glass or Gem Stone Bezel Setting Workshop
This is an intermediate level class which requires you to have taken at least one beginner level workshop prior to booking. You will build on prior knowledge and learn to create a bezel cup to set your chosen piece of seaglass or gem stone and then make it into a ring or a pendant necklace. All tools and materials will be supplied including a choice of gem stones and seaglass. If you should prefer it might be possible for you to set your own stone or seaglass. Please use the contact form to check prior to booking.
The lessons will take place in a small group setting with generally 2 students. This maximises the support available to the students.
3 hour classes - £75 per person

Mini Metal Workshops
Mini metal workshops are 45 minutes long and suitable for anyone aged 8 and above. You and hammer, stamp and personalise cuffs, book marks, key rings or rings, in hypoallergenic aluminium, (copper or brass if available). All details are found under the workshops listing on the products page (see menu for details).

Christmas Mini Metal Workshops-
As the above mini metal workshops but with the addition of some fabulous shaped Christmas tree decorations!
Choose from a range of shapes, including penguins, snowflakes, traditional baubles, hearts, stockings or Christmas trees. Decorate them to your hearts content! You’ll have an hour to work on your masterpiece which will be able to be taken home with you on the day. From £15 per person. Ages 8 and above (younger children may be allowed on request).

General Information about Jewellery Workshops-
Silver Spring Jewellery is fully insured to teach jewellery workshops and offers all classes to adults over 18 years of age due safety reasons.
Please tie up long hair.
Safety googles and other equipment will be provided for use in the lesson.
No alcohol, or other substances which may affect your ability to concentrate to be consumed before or during the workshops.
Safety advice to be heeded at all times, as there will be open flames, sharp and dangerous equipment and chemicals, all which need to be treated with caution and respect.
Anyone not adhering to safety rules or threatening the safety or enjoyment of others will be asked to leave at the discretion of Silver Spring and will not be refunded. Safety of all students is paramount.
Cancellations-
Students can cancel or transfer to a different classes (availability permitting) up to 7 days before their workshop, after that time it is at the discretion of Silver Spring. We will do our best to accommodate you.
